There is no doubting how much love is in this house. It fills up every spacious room of their sprawling home. Tucked away in the woods, down a winding lane, on the edge of the lake you'll find them. The smallest people living here are filled with the largest amounts of energy. Three heads peeked from the windows and bolted out leaving the door wide open, grabbing my hands before I was even halfway up the walk. (Ok, to be fair I had been over once before to pick out their clothes for the shoot ... regardless, I felt so special!) The threesome had lots of questions about everything and before I knew it we had become besties.
Planning began around Turkey Day when I made a home visit to assemble outfits that completed Amy's vision for her future photos. After searching online for the perfect tan heel's we found a pair that added 4 inches from Hive and Honey! I became a hurricane digging into Brandon's closet for a striped button down to complement his new Banana Republic sweater... "It must have bright green stripes!" I said, scouring through his closet looking for the perfect shirt. "Found it!" and I walked out victorious. It worked perfectly with the kids' shoe laces we ordered from Crewcuts! Minnetonka booties for Sami, A new dress, funky earrings and a fur vest later we had found all the missing pieces! Amy even sewed brightly colored patches onto Cal's jeans - take a close look to see what I am talking about. She is EXTREMELY creative and came up with the ideas for incorporating their vintage VW bug. She went as far as to hand-make the peace wreath attached to the front of the love bug. (pick up your own peace wreath at Objects on Main St. in Eureka, IL) So many details when into this photo shoot - Amy and Brandon you clearly went above and beyond with your ideas - congrats on winning this Holiday Session!!
Can't wait to see you all next week when I am back in Illinois!! There are so many more images from this session - hopefully I can post them soon!
Peace! - Laura
